FAQ

What parts do you stock? We only stock parts for ongoing customers who have multiple releases. For the most part we are not a commodity rivet shop.

What’s your lead time? Typical answer would be four to six weeks for parts similar to those we have made previously. If a secondary operation, specialized metal or part development is required we are in the eight to twelve week span.

Do you just make rivets? No we make a variety of fasteners in addition to the many types of rivets; pins, screws, contacts, custom shaped metal parts.

What materials have you used? Carbon steels, stainless steel, brass, bronze, nickel silver, copper, aluminum, monel, platinum, gold, silver, and most metals but sorry not plastics.

What sizes do you make? Typically we discuss diameter and length as limiting factors; we have made parts in diameters of shank from .009” through .268” and lengths from .010” through 3.0.”

What is a minimum order? It certainly is tempered by part size, shape complexity and material; but typically we look at 50,000 piece orders and up. Simplistically orders should be over $1250.00; smaller orders are frequently more economical at a screw machine shop.

I used to buy from Penn Fasteners. C & L Rivet acquired Penn Fasteners in 2001 and have been servicing their previous customer base ever since.

WHY CHOOSE US?

We have been making these type parts for over 45 years, we are ISO certified and willing to listen to needs rather than sell you our idea of your needs.

We specialize in miniature rivets; we use microscopes to check small parts every day.

We have successfully helped companies reduce costs of screw machined parts with cold headed parts as volumes increase.

We invest in equipment consistently to provide parts at lower cost with increased run rates and better quality from new tight-tolerance equipment.

We are open to new industries, ideas, changes, re-engineering and evolution of part design to solve the need, we are not a commodity/off-the-shelf type manufacturer.
